FAQ's

Agents discussing Energent

What percentage of my electric bill accounts for lighting?

It depends on the type of business. In an office building it can range from 25-40%, while in a heavy manufacturing facility it can be as low as 5-15%. Warehouses or distribution centers can run as high as 50%!

Does Reliable do its own installations or subcontract?

We do our own installations so we maintain complete quality control.

Most of the energy/telecom crossover I'm hearing about is when TEM providers being also managing energy costs - but we're talking about much more than that with the actual reselling if energy/utilities, right?

Not necessarily; in many cases, it is just that. However, you are correct that TEM's can also manage all non-usage costs (NRC's, distribution, equipment, etc.) it is not as prevalent as the management of correct KwH's but it does exist.

Are there any legalities to be concerned with when reselling energy?

Nothing that is incredibly different than in telecom. The main one would be customers not fully understanding flexible rates that go up and down, kind like an ARM in the mortgage industry.

Do you anticipate any difficulty being posed by the fact that different contacts within a company might be responsible for the telecom and the utilities - new relationships to build?

Yes but we have seen that it is often the case that it is the same DM or that at least same DM in the "decision making group". In other words, there is usually more than one person making the decision and typically the same person who is part of deciding on the telecom is also deciding on energy.

How do I know this type of project will really save me money?

Lighting savings is very straightforward - savings are derived from reduced energy consumption. In our project proposal, we clearly quantify your savings so you'll have a good idea of what to expect.

Will energy-efficient lighting sacrifice or diminish the quality or brightness of my existing lighting?

In almost all cases, there will be a significant improvement, with increased clarity and vibrancy. Our design expertise, along with our knowledge of the highest-quality lighting products available, help us achieve the best results in the industry.

When do you install the new lighting system?

Whenever it's best for our clients, usually after hours, on weekends, or when production is slowest.

Will there be any disruption to my business?

We have years of experience with the most difficult and sensitive installations and pride ourselves on causing minimal or no disruption.

How long has Reliable Energy Concepts, Inc. been in business?

This is our 14th year in business.

We don't have a budget for such a project. Do you offer financing

Yes! We offer a variety of financing options to suit our clients' specific needs, such as our No Capital Expenditure program.

Are there any incentives or rebates available to help pay for the project?

There are usually a variety of incentives and/or rebates available. We are constantly researching the various programs offered and handle all the administration required to secure the largest possible incentives for our clients.
